Education & Supervision Services
We believe that to help people in need, we must help those new to the field develop. Because of this, we will be providing ongoing education and supervision for clinicians within Myrina and others. We have always believed it is our responsibility to empower the next generation in the field towards excellence. Online, In-Person Workshops and Seminars will be provided by our clinicians designed to improve understanding of the many layers of addiction. And how the clinicians can keep themselves healthy and prevent burnout so they can be more effective, providing guidance for those who seek in their recovery journey.

Helping those to build the right policies towards interventions that benefit all parties is also crucial. ” HOW CAN WE HELP YOU? “
Life Skills Counseling

Addiction is a disease that stops personal growth of the individual at the age when they begin abusing. Addicts learn how to use and abuse by any means towards the vicious cycle of the disease. During this time many crucial life skills are over shadowed by the nature of addiction. It’s ok not to know how to do when everybody else has no problem doing. With our life skills counseling we help the individual towards closing those gaps and giving them the tools to better themselves and their lives.

Addiction is a very complicated disease. It doesn’t only affect the individual and their family, it affects the community as a whole. When we declare war on drugs and the un-healthy nature of addiction one question comes to mind. “How can you declare war on your loved ones or your neighbors or your colleagues?”. Having an educated mind and developing an understanding not only helps the person who is suffering from addiction, but it serves to help people get to where they need to be in a healthy way. Webinars and workshops are designed specifically towards that goal.

Expecting the addict to stay in recovery and being miserable and not living a fulfilled life is unacceptable. No matter how hard the active addiction is at a point it is enjoyable. Asking the addict to give up that joy and the coping skill of their life and not giving them any options to replace the joy and the satisfaction of addiction is a common mistake. We believe the journey of recovery should lead to searching for healthy ways to make one’s life more fulfilled and joyful.
Group Therapy

The foundation of addiction treatment was laid out on the concept of addicts understanding addicts. Self-help groups are not group therapy. Group therapy helps individuals while mirroring each other working on issues, guided by professionals. Using the tools given by that professional is important for the group members to work on issues that prevent growth. While they’re healing, they support one another and break the nature of denial in recovery.

For many families having a family member addicted is a shameful situation and a supposed indicator of failing as a parent, spouse or child of an addict. The reality is no matter what the background of the individual is, they have chosen addiction as self-medication. This choice cannot be questioned, but remaining in it after all of ugliness is a conscious choice. And just like the addict, the family’s conscious choice of enabling and supporting the person’s disease and blaming themselves for everything surrounding the family and the addict is self-protective. Having a professional guide to keep you from harm’s way and give you the healthy tools towards navigating this complicated path with the help of other families is a refreshing and powerful tool.
Individual Therapy

We in Myrina believe, each individual is unique. Their needs are unique, having counselors understand their culture and belief systems; assessing their needs accordingly and then creating a long-term treatment plan to get them on their feet. Supporting them while they’re building their lives and staying in long-term sustainable recovery till they no longer need therapy is essential.
Individual Family Therapy

For us the definition of family is who you choose to share your life with. The individuals in our lives, when they witness and the hurdles that the addict goes through, has an effect on everyone in the family. The nature of addiction is manipulative, family members become enablers, caretakers. They all develop unhealthy coping skills while everybody scrambles in the disease. Helping the family members recover at the same time as the addict is important to separate the nature of addiction and the nature of the individual. Building bridges through resentments and disappointments of the past will help everyone recover together towards a better future for the generations to come.
At Myrina, we’re not going to ask for any kind of payment from the people
who get therapy from our clinicians. Every dollar donated will be allocated
towards operations.
