Hello Everyone, The reason that we want to open this non-profit (in the US Specifically), is due to the dire situation of addictions counseling and treatment within the US. When I first attended my studies in Rutgers University as a foreigner in the mid 1990’s, I was mentored and taught by the pioneers in the field of Addictions, Gail Milgram, Geraldine Owen Delaney, Bettie Ann Weinstein and many more. I was inspired to bring the American model back to Turkey and to the surrounding region to build culturally adapted addictions therapy systems and develop educational systems for the future leaders in the field. After we moved back to the US in 2016, I retired to focus on my son’s education and development when he began elementary school. Over time, we realized all the brilliant programs developed in the 90s and 2000’s was having problems due to inadequate funding, coupled with expanding regulatory compliance which was heart breaking. I have been in recovery since 1996 with decades of experience working within Addiction Therapy and teaching at universities in Europe, and Turkey. Collaborating care for the ones who are in need with our network all through, the USA, UK, EU, and Turkey. I believe, given my professional and personal experience as a recovering person, through this non-profit we can make a positive difference in the lives of those in search of therapy and counseling (without incurring any financial strain or limitations due to insurance company policies). I want to help people move on in life so they can be productive members of society through a whole person approach, vocational counseling and life skills development. Our services will not have any physical limitations due to being online, and we believe that it will provide a beneficial service to those more disenfranchised. I had a wonderful carrier for over 23 years due to all my mentors and them molding me over the years towards helping others and raising future leaders in the field. Now I am back, and I feel the need to pay it forward, this is the least I can do with our Non-Profit.
