Our Story
Our Story
Myrina one of the pioneers
of online counseling.
In 2008 we were very fortunate to be able to see the future and adapt towards the needs of our day and age. While we were practicing clinicians in Europe and Asia Minor, we opened Myrina Addictions Counseling and Life Skills Consultation Service, LLC and operated it as an international business corporation.
We hired “Consultants,” who had to be licensed therapists in their local jurisdiction, were able to provide talk therapy through the Myrina Consulting web site with a fully encrypted audio/video feed. What began as a small personal services website quickly became a successful international business with consultants representing unexpected languages and cultures such as Nigerian, Dutch, Urdu, German, Swiss, Argentinian, Turkish and American with a focus on matching culture rather than location.
During our adventure we learned a lot and carried on breaking boundaries.
Myrina was closed in 2016 when we returned to the US to allow our son to attend primary school. In 2018 we have had a nagging thought, “why did we close it?”
We had our reasons at the time, things like we wanted to retire, we wanted to focus on our son and preparing him for his future, we wanted to spend more of a quality time together.
But the addiction situation in the US and the world continued to get worse and the agencies assigned to manage the situation don’t seem to be making any progress because there’s no money in it.
So, we said, “Why does the addict have to have money to reach out for a life of Recovery?” The answer to that is because the counselor has bills to pay.
Then the thought came:
Maybe we can partially “TAKE THE MONEY OUT OF THE EQUATION ALONG WITH THE LIMITATIONS OF SESSIONS NEEDED.” Therefore, the idea of Myrina Non-Profit was born.
We have decided to re-open Myrina with a new concept, being a non-profit with the ideas to tackle the needs that are out there to focus on helping individuals and families and communities.

Empower Growth
Myrina strives to be able to give therapeutic and life skill tools towards long
term recovery for those who are ready to change their lives. We believe
that, with a chronic illness such as addiction, achieving long term recovery
needs on-going long-term care, support, and education to facilitate change.
Our Goals
- Becoming a fully functional, online counseling entity with a great clinical staff including recreational and life skills components attached to our system of operations.
- To provide education and clinical supervision for the new generation coming into the field.
- Initiate a System Development Team who will evaluate systemic needs and develop prevention and intervention policies and programs for any entity in need.
Our Therapeutic and Counseling Services will use time and resources efficiently, both for our clients and their families. We, along with our staff, will use all technological advantages at our disposal along with those we develop.
At Myrina, we’re not going to ask for any kind of payment from the people
who get therapy from our clinicians. Every dollar donated will be allocated
towards operations.
